Chapter 20 – A guide on surviving?

Recently I have started to think a lot about how hard it is to succeed in the world that it is today. A lot of people, a lot of ways to succeed, a lot of methods, paths and slippery roads that lead to the thing that everyone seems to want these days – SUCCESS.

On that road to success there is a lot of heartbreak, a lot of tears of frustration, a lot of nerve-wrecking bad decision making. You need to experience it all, otherwise it’s not authentic, but would it be too much to ask to avoid all that? Can there be a clear path to fulfillment?

Survival mode always needs to be on. A lot of people are struggling all the time. The more successful ones will always try to tell you, be yourself, be authentic and true to you, and it might make you feel even worse. It’s what it did to me.

I still don’t know who I am properly and I am still finding myself, does that mean I should not chase success? One day I try to be this, the other day I try to be that. Does that make me a hypocrite, or just confused, on the path to finding myself? Let me know in the comments below.

Surviving is hard. I am not sure I am made strong enough. Not always. I am learning how though. Am I successful? You be the judge if you want, if you want that role.

There are a lot of guides, a lot of advice on the internet on how to conquer life, how to survive everyday stresses. People made a career of it. I haven’t given any a chance. Why?

Why would I? I already have a lot of stuff to do. I don’t feel like it would have helped me though. It’s very individual. I also kind of know what needs to be done, but it’s hard to do that every day.

A guide on surviving

Be kind.

Try your best.

Ask for help if you needed. Provide help if needed.

Endure, even when it hurts.

Enjoy the good, it won’t last long.

And repeat every day.

Tough, isn’t it? I know, better than you might think. There is no race. You can make a step forward and take a step back after. It’s up to you, how long do you want your journey to last. Success can be different for all. For me, I have little goals and I take little steps towards them. It’s not easy all the time but it’s rewarding when you are better than the day before.

At the end of the day, your biggest competition is yourself. You are the only one who you need to beat.
